Golf St. Johns Golf & Country Club
The golf course is about 30 minutes north of St. Augustine just west of I 95. The course is designed by Clyde Johnston, has a length of 7236 yards and slope 132, there are five sets of tees so it can be played quite much shorter. The fairways are normally not too narrow but you still have to take care of the pine forest and water plus well-placed sand traps. The people I played with warned about snakes in the forest, don’t know how true or if they just wanted to speed up the game (I had a few shots into the forest so we did save some time). Even if there is houses around the course they were set away and you hardly think about them like on some other courses. It was a very pleasant course and I really enjoyed playing even the first time which for me normally is not the case. The quality was good and it was well maintained with nice fast greens, some in in different levels but well done. I can see that with some practice this will be a even more enjoyable course to play.
